A Home Remedy For Age Spots or Commercial Anti Aging Creams?
By Valerie Rosenbaum
Once you're over the age of 55, it isn't unusual to want a home remedy for age spots. Whether or not these remedies will be effective depends on a number of variables. There are certainly some things that you can try, but first and foremost, you need to be cautious when you are out in the sun.
Even though they are most often seen in older people, they really have nothing to do with age. Despite the fact that they are commonly referred to as liver spots, they have nothing to do with the health of your liver, either. They are really nothing more than adult freckles, caused by overexposure to the sun.
They are harmless, not indicative of skin cancer. But, the damage that causes them also plays a role in skin cancer. So, if you do see a sudden change in the color or size of a spot, you should report it to your doctor, immediately.
Using a home remedy for age spots will only be effective if you protect the affected area from sunlight. You can do that buy wearing protective clothing, such as a hat, if the spot is on your forehead or face. You can also use a zinc oxide sun-block, but those other sunscreen ingredients are not as effective. Some of them could actually increase your risk of skin cancer.
If you are a woman and the spot is on your face, choose a foundation that contains zinc oxide. There are several brands that contain it. The SPF rating of your makeup really doesn't mean much. By the time that you are on your way home from work, any of them will have lost their effectiveness.
The only home remedy for age spots that is not a commercially manufactured product, but might be effective is fresh lemon juice. It is acidic enough to peel of the outer layer of skin. That may work, but it might also cause redness, itching and irritation. In order for it to work, you would need to dab it on the spot with a cotton-ball twice day. It will take about 6-8 weeks, but if you avoid exposure to the sun during that time, you should start to see it fade away.
Even a commercially produced home remedy for age spots will take 6-8 weeks to work, because that's how long it takes for the outer layer of epidermis to be replaced. That's right. Every couple of months, your outer layer of skin is completely replaced. Thousands of your skin cells are sloughed off every day. New ones are produced by specialized mother cells in the deepest layer of the epidermis.
In a young healthy person, it takes only 28 days for those new cells to reach the surface, but the process slows down greatly, with age. Now, if you are interested, there are some new anti-aging creams that can speed that process up again. Once you learn about that, you might not be interested in a home remedy for age spots and you might not ever need one again.

What are some advertisements (in magazines/newspapers) or commercials that use physical appearence to advertis?
The question pretty much covers it, but What are some advertisements (in magazines/newspapers) or commercials on TV that use physical appearence to advertise? For example, Gillette Fusion, it uses buff and good looking men to advertise, and barely shows the product itself. What are some others?
Please & thanks for helping!

Re: Hydroxi Cut and other weight reduction products?
Do they work? I was just wondering about long term effect…In commercials, people look they took these products and lost a considerable amount of weight. Do they work with combination of diets? I do not minimaze the affect of physical fitness? Your opinions or good advices, please.
Hydroxi Cut and other weight reduction products work by reducing appetite. For the best results include a meal plan.
Concentrate on overall fitness and maintaining a healthy heart.
For best results, eat six times a day. Try balancing your meals 70% protein 30% carbs.
Eat a combination of lean protein and healthy carbohydrates every few hours throughout the day to speed up fat loss and maintain stable energy levels.
Eat your proteins from lean sources (Chicken, fish, boiled eggs, lean beef with all the fat drained off) and beans (lentil, lima, chile or any type of bean)
For your carbs stay away from breads, pasta and rice. They do provide energy but they are high in calories. Choose leafy vegetables, carrots, raisins, broccoli and fresh fruits. Weight train intensely, three times per week on alternating days with aerobic exercise three times per week.
Drink 10 to 20 glasses water per day NO SODA
Good Luck !!!
Eat Right and do Cardio (jogging, aerobics or bike riding 30minutes per day) to burn fat.
Need help with this business law crap. Need one page what should i write?
The Controlling the Assault of Non Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003, known as the CAN-SPAM Act, was passed by Congress and became effective in January of 2004. It established a framework for federal regulation of unsolicited commercial email. It covers email the primary purpose of which is advertising or promoting a commercial product or service. It exempts email that facilitates an agreed upon transaction or updates a customer in an existing business relationship. It bans false or misleading header information, prohibits deceptive subject lines, requires that recipients be given an opt-out method and requires commercial email to be identified as an advertisement and include the sender’s valid physical postal address. The Federal Trade Commission is authorized to enforce the Act, and the Department of Justice has the authority to enforce its criminal sanctions.
Assume that a company which has regularly, and successfully, marketed their products through email challenges the constitutionality of this law. Their argument is that the law exceeds the authority given to Congress to regulate under the Commerce Clause. Discuss the merits of that argument. In your discussion, identify the scope of Congress’ authority under the commerce clause. In general, what type of activity may Congress regulate? (5 points). Also, discuss whether this particular regulation a valid exercise of Congress’ power. (15 points) Then, assume that the state of Tennessee passes a law regulating the same type of activity, but which, in addition to those prohibitions contained in the federal law, also prohibits email updates to customers in an existing business relationship. Identify the constitutional source of the state’s power to pass such a regulation, and discuss whether this is unconstitutional because it violates either the “dormant” commerce clause or the supremacy clause. (5 points)
It’s been two years since I took my computer ethics class, so my writing skills for a paper on this topic are rusty. Basically, explain in your own words what the Commerce Clause does. Doesn’t Congress have the power to regulate INTERSTATE commerce? If Tennessee passes a similar law, won’t that regulate INTRASTATE commerce between two parties? What about false and misleading headers? In effect, aren’t they a form of fraud?
Sometimes the best way to write a paper is to ask yourself different questions in relation to what is being asked of you.
A men shampoo commercial feat. a diverse group of men, including a mentally challenge man, would you buy it?
If such commercial exist, I would buy it because it’s all about the message of celebrating the life of men from white and black, straight and gay, old and young, and physical and mentally disabled. The way of how this so called commercial have to be should be the only way for me to buy the product. If this commercial does exist, then I would shake the hand of the person behind the commercial for bringing so many diverse of men in it.
I’m all for clever, funny, and unique commercials – but I don’t switch brands because of them. I buy for the product features and value, not the marketing genius.
What’s the best site/way to search for MSDS?
So I have a few chemicals that I need to find information on. The items I need information on is
1 Chemical name
2 Product or commercial name
3 Formula weight and chemical formula
4 Physical state at room temperature
5 Melting and/or boiling points, specific gravity or density
6 Solubility in water
7 Fire and explosion hazard
8 Health hazards
Is there a MSDS database out there that is user-friendly, straightforward, and had most of the information that I need presented in a clear manner? I’ve been seraching a few and it seems confusing. One chemical for example is Acetic Acid (5%) Thanks
Okay, so I tried google, and for “acetic acid 5%”, I get different data from a few MSDS sheets on acetic acid 5%. This strikes as weird since I thought it should be uniform throughout.
The best current method is the google search. You will find that MSDSs vary greatly. You should really consider (as in your example) 5% acetic acid from different companies as different chemicals. If you have for example Brand X acetic acid, do not substitute a Brand Y MSDS. You may find yourself in trouble.
Remember a few other things:
1. The product name on the MSDS is just that. I can call it 5% acetic acid and in the ingredients tell you it is really 4-6% or 5.01% or <8%.
2. Most of the data on the MSDS is not required by OSHA and is provided "for you info".
3. Tests can be run by different labs, by different methods, and at different times.
4. The same data can be represented by different entries. 212F, 100C, >50C,same as water, not tested, not available, <140C, >140F, etc can all mean the same thing or it can mean nothing.
MSDSs are tools that are not reviewed for commonality, not reviewed by the government, and supplied to give basic information. I have seen the same product (gasoline) have a 3 page MSDS and a 30 page MSDS.
