Can anyone tell me if working for Avon is good?
Can I get more info on working for Avon? The site does not give that much info and I really want to know what happens when you work for them.

Like what do you get when you apply? How do you sell? Etc etc.

Can someone give me all the info they can. Thank you.

The above answer and source is me but that account is closed. I’m glad that answer helped you and thanks for giving me credit :)

I hope the asker finds it helpful too.

I’ll add a little more about Avon and how it works

The best way to join is to find a leadership rep either online or locally. Many google ads take you to a form to fill out and it gets sent to Avon. Hopefully you get contacted but more often than not people don’t hear a word from anyone.

Its nearly impossible to pinpoint any type of $ figure that you will earn. First and foremost how you work you business is key. Then your commissions are based on your order size after the first 4 campaigns of a 40% commission. As seen below

      $1550 or more 50%
      $900 – $1549 45%
      $425 – $899 40%
      $285 – $424 35%
      $145 – $284 30%
      $25 – $144 20%
      $00 – $24 0%

Items that Avon sells but does not make get a 20% commission.

Some people do it as a part time job and some actually work their business full time.

You can start with your family and friends and your coworkers if you also have a job. Then examine your daily routine and who you see. There are your neighbors, the place you buy your coffee, the receptionist at the doctor or dentist office. The cashier at the supermarket etc etc. Talk to 3 people a day about Avon and you’ll find the people who love it and need it.

How does it work? In a nutshell…You take orders from family, friends and coworkers etc.each campaign. A campaign is the selling period for each brochure and lasts 2 weeks. At the end of the campaign you submit the order to AVON. You are billed the discounted price. The customers pay the full brochure price. You submit payment to Avon before the placing the next order. The difference between the two is your pay!

What are the advantages and disadvantages of working for Avon?
What if I choose to work for Avon and only Avon til my baby’s old enough to go to school, then I can work outside home??? I don’t want anyone to watch my baby til he’s old enough to talk and tell me what goes on when I’m not around. Know what I mean?

Any type of work you do unless you do daycare in your own home will require you to leave the house at least occasionally. If you go out to do a party you will have to leave the baby with someone even if it is your husband. If your husband isn’t willing to help then you have a problem.

Avon does require you to deliver brochures and orders but that can be done in an efficient manner and combined with errands that need to be done. You probably take your baby on your errands so you could take him to do this too. Get enough customers close to home and you wont spend alot of money on gas. Ask the customers to pick up their orders and give them a free gift (something small) or a 10% discount on their order. I tell my customers when I’m delivering and if they arent’ going to be there they leave a check. If they don’t want to then they will have to make other arrangements. I am not delivering 3 times to the same area. If a customer places a big order you can ask for a deposit in the event you think they may not pay you. You can do that with everyone but I don’t and haven’t had a problem yet.

You can ask your friends and family for referrels from their friends and family. You can even ask them to be helpers and get you orders from them which you reward them with a discount on their personal order.

The only thing you NEED to buy to run your Avon business is brochures. Avon gives you 25 bags in your first order after that you need to purchase the bags. They cost between $1 an $2 for 50. That’s not going to eat up your profits. Yes you do need to purchase samples but they aren’t necessary and I rarely have gotten a sale by giving them out freely. If someone wants to try something you can order it with your next order and they range in price from $1/10 to $2.50/5 depending on the type of sample it is but you don’t HAVE to buy them.

There are so many ways to work around problems if you approach it business like and efficiently. If you expect money to come in without doing anything then it isn’t going to work out.

Avon only costs $10 face to face or $20 to join online (see my profile for info on that) They give you everything you need to get started. I joined for $10 and I am a Unit Leader with 70 in my downline and Honor society ($20,000 in sales). I’ve done this around my family life with 3 children (one of whom is handicapped) and my part time job in the hospital.

Anything is possible if you put your mind and body to it.

Is working with Avon or Mary Kay worth it?
I’ve been looking at either becoming an Avon rep or for becoming a Mary Kay lady or working with Premier Jewelry. I was looking up Avon last night and what they say on their site seems pretty good. Mary Kay when I went to one of their meettings seemed pretty good too. But is it even worth it to work for Avon or Mary Kay?

You must want to go in debt, don’t you?

Do you make more money working for Avon or Mary Kay?
Do you make more money working for Avon or Mary Kay? I’m a college student looking to make a little extra tuition money. Have people been more successful working with Avon or Mary Kay companies?

    1. Take a look at - Immunotec.com

Truthfully, neither one is that good of a business opportunity. Avon and Mary Kay are both over saturated markets, everybody and their Grandma is selling them nowadays. Plus they have a slow product turnover rate, so you must constantly find new customers. Avon had a 24% drop in sales last year, they make their money by signing up new Reps.Mary Kay’s make up is overpriced. Avon and Mary Kay are sold in many salons now, so Reps are not as needed anymore.
Why not try something different like a line of Natural Wellness products? This is a great recession proof business since people will always spend big money to feel better. And it involves consumable goods which people repurchase quickly.
You can also check you e-mail in box. You never know what outstanding business opportunities you will find there!!
      Best wishes for success!

What are the pros/ cons of working for avon?
I am 20 years old and I love the way avon sounds. My mom says its a scam and I will end up annoying my friends and family to buy my products but I want to know the details. Is it not what it seems? What are the details? What are the costs? How much time would i need to spend on it?Thank you so much.

    1. Redefine your Beauty

Hi Sammy! Avon is definitely worth your time! I think people underestimate the opportunity that comes with Avon. I work in an Avon District Office and we train and assist all of our representatives as to how to be successful. Yes, sales can be difficult…but not if you have the right people to guide you along the way!!

If you would like to know more about the Avon opportunity, please feel free to contact me on yahoo or visit my personal site below!

Hope this helps & Good luck to you!
